Cross country skiing
Malles
Venosta Nordic is a new cross-country skiing trail network around the Ortler Mountain and Passo Resia in South Tyrol and North Tyrol (A).
In the Venosta Valley and in Nauders (A) and Val Müstair (CH), there are no fewer than 7 cross-country skiing areas, with 9 ski trails to choose from.
The different kinds of trails – 118 km including forest circuits, panoramic trails and high-altitude trails – offer skiing at various difficulty levels: from classic cross-country skiing to skating, for both beginners and seasoned trail experts.
The six Venosta Nordic sports areas offer an extended skiing season as well as guaranteed snow conditions. This is true for Solda/Sulden (1,900 m above sea level), as well as the Nordic ski centres of Slingia/Schlinig and Martello/Martell, extending as far as the Resia and S. Valentino Lakes, and across the border with Austria to Nauders and Swizzerland to Val Müstair.
The Venosta Nordic ski areas also host international sporting events such as La Venosta or the Biathlon IBU Cup, while The Tour de Ski is staged in Val Müstair, in neighbouring Switzerland.
These are the seven ski areas of Venosta Nordic: Val Müstair (CH), Nauders (A), Reschenpass, Langtaufers, Schlinig, Sulden, Martelltal.
Despite the diversity of the Venosta Nordic cross-country skiing areas, they all share one thing in common: the idyllic solitude of the forests. Despite the sizeable numbers of visitors attracted to this destination, it still allows individuals to practice their preferred Nordic winter sport in the tranquillity of these pristine mountains.
