Holiday resort Burgeis
Burgeis, a very special place in the Upper Vinschgau Valley
Burgeis is situated between the main Village
Mals and the
lake Reschensee at the mountain slope on the heath of Mals (Malser Haide). Burgeis is very special thanks to its sights: The
Benedictine Monastery Marienberg with its
baroque church and
crypt, which still has very well preserved frescos from the 12th Century, as well as the
castle Fürstenburg and the two
churches of St. Nikolaus and
St. Stephan are a worthwhile destination.
This idyllic peasant village is full of oriels, archways, frescos and flight of stairs. On the one hand its inhabitants stick to old South Tyrolean traditions and on the other hand they are openhearted towards tourists.
Burgeis is situated directly at the bottom of the skiing and hiking area Watles and so it is an ideal place to stay in winter an well as in summer. In Burgeis you find the best requirements for a placeful and relaxes stay.
